# FormForge > FormForge is a free, browser-based PDF form editor that turns any PDF into a fillable form — with no uploads, no account, and no software to install. FormForge is a free, browser-based tool for creating and filling in fillable PDF forms, built by Aleksandar Jovanovic of The CodeCave GmbH. It runs entirely client-side using PDF.js and pdf-lib — your files are processed locally in your browser and are never uploaded to a server — and it exports standard AcroForm fillable PDFs that open in Adobe Reader, macOS Preview, Chrome and Firefox. You can place seven field types by hand (text, checkbox, radio, dropdown, signature, date, number), or let a neural network that runs locally in the browser via WebAssembly find the fields on a flat PDF for you.
